Water Filtration Systems

Culligan Filtration SystemsGet a Filter. Or be a Filter.

Home water filtration systems remove small particles like sediment, iron, manganese, chlorine and even gasses (like hydrogen sulfide) from water. The water filters trap these particles, in sizes as small as 10 microns, as water travels through it. A home water filtration system must be backwashed periodically, requiring the unit to be taken off-line while the flow of water through the filter is reversed.

The reverse flow of water is directed to a drain and the trapped sediment is rinsed out. When completed, the water filtration system is ready to work. Culligan water filters can be configured to solve any water problem. To learn more about Culligan water filters and water filtration systems, check out our Water Treatment FAQ page.

Your water comes from one of two places, a private well or a municipal water supply, making the water in every home unique. The EPA suggests that you check your well water annually. Water from different wells may be blended.  Water from municipalities travels a long way through new and old pipes before it reaches your home.

The pipes in your home may add additional contaminants depending on the age of your home. In addition, your home may be on an older water main, and a water main break may introduce contaminants into the water. That's why Culligan suggests a water test before we recommend solutions. Culligan has water solutions that are specifically designed to solve any water problem.

High Iron Content

Rust Stains - Iron

If you are on well water, traces of iron in the water can stain your clothing and fixtures. Culligan has a range of solutions to remove iron. The concentrations of the iron in your water will determine the solution. A water test is the best way to be sure to get the best water treatment solution for your home and family's needs.

Bad Tasting/Smelly Water

Chemical Taste & Smell - Chlorine

In many areas chlorine is added to the water as a disinfectant. Chlorine can irritate skin and has an objectionable odor. A whole house carbon water filter, or carbon and water softening system can remove the chlorine so your water tastes better at every faucet in your home, and your showers are more enjoyable.

Rotten Egg Smell & Black Spots - Sulfur

The strong rotten egg smell of sulfur permeates the water from many wells across the country. Culligan has the technology to remove the sulfur to give you fresh tasting and better smelling water. Call for a free water analysis to help us determine the right solution for your family.

Filter Cleer

Cloudy, hazy water gets that way due to sediment in the water. Culligan Filter-Cleer water filters remove dirt, silt, clay and other types of sediment from your water supply. The Filter-Cleer is four water filters in one. They work at different levels, stacked on top of each other, each removing a particular size of sediment particle.

Absolutely no cartridges to change or clean. The Filter-Cleer filter treats all the water in your house, not just from one faucet.
