Bottled Water Quality

Culligan bottled water meets or exceeds all federal and state health standards
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates bottled water as a food product, whereas the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulates tap water provided by water utilities
The FDA Standards of Quality (SOQs) for bottled water must be as protective of public health as EPAs standards (known as Maximum contaminant Levels)

Culligan Water Sources

  • Culligan uses only state-approved source for our bottled water products
  • Spring Water products originate from a natural spring in Antigo, WI
  • Drinking and Fluoridated bottled water originates from Brooklyn Park Municipal Systems deep wells in the Jordan Aquifer
  • All sources are tested regularly to verify quality

Culligan Bottled Water Preparation

We use a multi-barrier approach process that protects against harmful chemicals and microbiological contaminants, including Cryptosporidium and E-Coli Dedicated and sanitized stainless steel tanker trucks transport spring water. Spring water is passed through a set of one-micron absolute filters and ozonated
Premium Drinking Water goes through a 7-step process:

To remove unwanted tastes, odors and most chemicals
1— water is softened
2— and passed through activated medical grade carbon filters

To remove particulates
3— water flows through a five-micron filter

To remove 98% of dissolved salts and organic contaminants as well as provide a barrier against Cryptosporidium cysts
4— water is passed through a reverse osmosis unit
5— Purified drinking water passes through a one-micron absolute filter,

To enhance the flavor
6 — is injected with minerals
7 — and ozonated

Fluoridated water goes through same 7-step purification process as our drinking water then we add 1.0-ppm high-grade quality fluoride.

Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water System

Its a security system for your water. The reverse osmosis system reduces contaminants as small as an atom! Delicious water at your fingertips.

Ozone vs. Chlorine

Culligan uses ozone instead of chlorine in the final step of production. Ozonation leaves no residual and does not cause a taste or odor problem. Ozone is Oxygen (O3 to be exact) that is bubbled through the water just before it goes into a clean, sanitized bottle. Within a few hours after the bottle has been filled and capped, the ozone dissipates or converts back to the same form of oxygen we breathe (O2).
